Tarmac Central’s Kevin Quarry produces a significant quarry of industrial limestone powders, transported by road on a 24-hour basis. Quality assurance requirements can include the cleaning out of tankers – a manual task for which there is a duty of care to ensure the safety of the personnel involved.
A recently upgraded procedure has been introduced comprising the controlled issuing to the driver of a key from an audible & visible alarm system. The system has two initial time delay sequences, the first being an audible alarm within the weighbridge, whilst the second is audible outside the weighbridge and coupled with a visual beacon light.
