LEARNING POINTS / ACTIONS TAKEN

British regulator, the Health & Safety Executive, emphasises the need for adequate Maintenance, Inspection and Testing of these machines and highlights the imperative that they are not used if safety systems are damaged, overridden, or not working.

Concerned readers are recommended to look online at:

http://www.hse.gov.uk/press/2011/hse-scissorlifts.htm?ebul=hsegen&cr=3/10-jan-11

Although the specific models concerned are JLG 500 RTS and 400 RTS, other make/models may be similarly affected.
