TITLE
Forklift Truck (pit)
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
United Kingdom
ACCIDENT / INCIDENT DETAILS
A forklift truck driver was manoeuvring within the factory. Whilst reversing, the two rear wheels went onto timber boards covering an inspection pit. The driver heard the boards start to fail, but was unable to pull forward before they gave way. The truck fell into the pit. Fortunately the driver suffered no serious injuries.

An internal investigation identified that a larger forklift truck than normal was being used at the time of the incident. New controls have now been applied.
