WHAT HAPPENED
Driver using footbrake whilst outside of cab.
A contract tipper driver was tipping sand from an 8 wheeler lorry.
Whilst he had the vehicle body raised he was seen to be outside of the cab, with the door open, controlling the forward movement of the lorry by having his handbrake off and applying the footbrake with his hand.

A NUMBER OF THINGS COULD HAVE GONE WRONG.
1. The driver could have been pushed clear of the cab area leaving his vehicle to role freely and possibly coming into contact with others.
2. He could have collapsed or fallen under the vehicle and crushed.
