LGV Driver Aid - High visibility paint on LGV auto sheet arms. |
DESCRIPTION
LGV drivers regularly have to reverse their tipper vehicles into sites with narrow access routes. The automated sheeting arms are fixed to the outside of the tipper body and project beyond the sides of the tipper body. There is a risk when reversing into narrow sites, that the arms will hit gate posts, lights walls etc. The drivers said that they had difficulty in seeing the automated sheeting arms, through the wing mirrors, when reversing – particularly in poor weather conditions and in the dark. In response to this, the vehicle workshop staff decided to paint all LGV automated sheeting arms with high visibility yellow paint in order to make them much more visible.
BENEFITS
• The LGV drivers can clearly see the automated sheet arms when reversing • Significantly reduction in the number of accidental damage claims • Reversing is easier and safer.
