A rarity for QPA - an underground entrant - Hanson Aggregates’ Monks Park Mine in Wiltshire have remedied the hazard posed by incorrect jump-lead configuration, or connection of a fully charged battery to a fully-discharged battery. The hazard being acid burns and shrapnel if a battery should explode.
The solution is an adaptor plug fitted to mobile plant, thus ensuring no contact is necessary with either the vehicle’s battery terminals, earth or crocodile-clip jump leads. A stand-alone battery booster pack provides the power, and also features a reverse polarity warning buzzer and surge suppression.
