Traditionally, blocked bitumen pipes have never been easy to clear. Methods used by some sites leave a lot to be desired! Midland Quarry Products commissioned T.R. Electronic Systems Ltd to come up with a cheap, reliable and safe solution. This took the form of a portable 110V infra-red heater, ensuring the application of controlled heat, thus eliminating the risk of fire or explosion. The device has integral “wheels” to ensure the correct stand-off from the blocked bitumen pipe. A 3kW heater takes 10 minutes to unblock a pipe.
