The policy review evolved following a general discussion in the office regarding safety in the wake of several incidents in the media involving women being targeted with tragic endings.
It was highlighted that each member of staff individually felt very differently about what which situations may make them feel more vulnerable and at risk.
As a business, MPG felt improvements should be made to support each colleague’s individual needs at times when they felt most vulnerable.
The main issues raised during the discussion were of staff members feeling vulnerable or nervous, particularly on closed or prospective sites with no operational staff and in the office alone, particularly in winter.
