It is noticeable that experienced persons can become desensitised to the risks represented by mobile plant, particularly the noise, so other controls that rely on different senses can improve awareness.
Cemex Materials experiences typically in excess of 10 asset damage incidents, involving mobile plant, each year, fortunately none of these incidents have involved pedestrians. CEMEX had been using the FHOSS Halo System since 2020 but enhanced it to include an automatic stop if a pedestrian entered the exclusion zone.
