WHAT HAPPENED
Certain specific models of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) or "scissor lifts" have overturned, with fatal consequences in 3 incidents in Europe over the last 4 years. Interlock system failures have been identified.

British regulator, the Health & Safety Executive, emphasises the need for adequate Maintenance, Inspection and Testing of these machines and highlights the imperative that they are not used if safety systems are damaged, overridden, or not working.
