LEARNING POINTS / ACTIONS TAKEN
There are numerous types of eye protection including:
• Visors, Clear and tinted
• Goggles
• Close fitting light eye protection
• Impact resistant
• Chemical resistant
• Combined eye and respiratory protection
and to select the correct type it is necessary to ensure
- your task or area is properly assessed
- you identify the correct eye protection is selected for the hazard.
Has an assessment been made to identify if some areas of a site require specific mandatory eye protection to be worn i.e. Goggles?
(PPE is a last resort, and should be used in conjunction with other control measures).
